One size does not fit all – The Importance of Individualized Treatment

By Jolea Wells, HHP, CHom

Homeopathy is a very personalized approach to healing, it looks at the whole person, not just the symptoms. Since this may be a very different approach for those that are new to holistic healing paradigms, I like to provide clients with a high-level overview of how their situation will be addressed with homeopathy.

  • Homeopathy is based on “like cures like” – what causes those symptoms in a healthy person, will cure those same symptoms in the sick.
  • Homeopathy will look at their totality of symptoms – meaning we will look at the whole person: Mental, Emotional, Physical (concomitants, location, etiology, modalities, sensations), and General symptoms.
  • The emotional and mental states in homeopathy are often considered in order to determine the best matching remedy.
  • Lifestyle is taken into account as there may be obstacles to cure that need to be addressed.
  • Homeopathy treats the whole person – not just the bacteria or the disease.
  • Homeopathy works to stimulate the vital force (life force) back into balance and helps the body have the ability to overcome whatever imbalance is presenting.
  • Treatment is tailored for acute or chronic conditions.

An example of why individualization is so important when using homeopathy can be seen in an example of insomnia: One person has trouble sleeping from stress and overthinking and the other person is unable to sleep from grief. These two scenarios would need different remedies, though they are both not sleeping.

By considering all aspects of a person’s health and lifestyle, homeopathy focuses on restoring balance and supporting the body’s natural ability to heal itself.

Jolea is a dedicated Certified Classical Homeopath with a passion for helping families restore their health through gentle, natural remedies. Her journey into homeopathy began when her family faced health challenges that traditional medicine couldn’t fully address. After her husband’s autoimmune diagnosis and subsequent surgeries, they turned to holistic approaches, discovering the profound healing potential of food, herbs, and, ultimately, homeopathy. Certified in 2011 as a Holistic Health Practitioner and later as a Clinical Herbalist, Jolea deepened her expertise by studying Homeopathy at the Homeopathy School International. Over the years, she has witnessed the remarkable, rapid healing that homeopathy offers, and now dedicates her practice to helping others experience the same gentle, transformative results.
