About the School
HSC Mission Statement:
To provide exceptional education in classical homeopathy
to future homeopaths world-wide.
School Philosophy
The school's
goal is to inspire future homeopaths to be receptive, teach health
by example, and to prevent as well as alleviate disease. HSC's
philosophy is built on the tenet that individual uniqueness affects
health and well-being to a substantial degree. For
this reason HSC emphasizes both the physical and psychological
aspects of homeopathic treatment.
As a non-profit school we strive to offer our students
a challenging learning experience while contributing to the community
through the healing power of homeopathy.
Dynamic and Interactive Learning
HSC's
teaching methods include interactive experiences, group work and
case study, all designed to provide an environment that optimizes
learning and stimulates creative thinking. Well-prepared
students contribute to a dynamic and enjoyable learning experience.
To enhance active participation in the classroom students prepare
for each upcoming session.
Self-motivation
Becoming an effective
homeopathic practitioner requires an active ability to learn, read,
study, write, analyze and relate well to people. As a result,
HSC's program is designed to suit the needs of adult learners who
are able to assume direct responsibility for their learning.

History and Development of HSC
In 1991, the Classical Homeopathy Certification
Program was
established as a state-approved branch of the Massage Therapy
Institute of Colorado . The original program, founded
by Mark Manton and Barbara Seideneck, enrolled twenty-three students
at the Denver, Colorado site. This was one of the first
modern homeopathy programs offered in the United States.
In 1994, the program was expanded and established as an independent
school. It was also incorporated as the Colorado Institute
for Classical Homeopathy and relocated in Boulder, Colorado,
nestled on the Eastern slope of the Continental Divide.
The school earned its non-profit status [501(C
3)] in September 1996. In January 2004, the school acquired
the trade name, Homeopathy
School of Colorado (HSC) , and now conducts all business under
that name.
In response to a growing demand for homeopathic education by individuals
unable to attend classes in Boulder, the Home Study Program was
established in 2002.
Bonded and Approved
HSC is a bonded, non-profit corporation,
approved and regulated by the Colorado Department of Higher
Education, Private Occupational School Board . The school
has graduated professional homeopaths since 1992.
HSC Advisory Board
The Homeopathy School of Colorado Advisory
Council (HSCAC) provides
recommendations and advice for the continuing improvement and enrichment
of the school's educational program. The council consists
of practitioners, community members, students, alumni, and representatives
from related fields. The HSCAC meets bi-annually in October and
March.
